History

Longtime mover and shaker Jack Brill at 2003 Walk for Parkinson's Disease

Central Coast Parkinson Support Group to Central Coast Parkinson Association

The CCPSG was started in March of 1982 by Jerry and Clarice La Marnsa.  They were concerned about people in San Luis Obispo County who suffered with Parkinson's disease and had no groups to turn to for encouragement and support. They set up the bylaws and started CCPSG with 25 family units as charter members.  35 years later the non-profit organization is growing and changing - focusing on empowering people with Parkinson Disease and their care partners to get better and stay better through support groups, educational presentations, promotion of exercise and healthy activity to improve their quality of life throughout their lives, and funding research.
